The heroes start the session with a long discussion about how to best rescue their friends and get new sails for their newly acquired galleon. During this time, Brine-9, still tied and gagged, gets the condition that you have when you’re separated from a strong drug too long. Ike tries to help by giving him one of the vials he still had from the other warforged, but Brand stops him and casts lesser restoration on the pirate warforged magically curing him of his drug addiction and also Ike. Then, Brand casts zone of truth on the pirate and interrogates him: the grateful pirate now promises to do good and to lead his friends the right path.
In the meantime, the heroes start hearing the melody of Harder, Better, Stronger but it’s not Brine-9 because he’s gagged and above deck and the sound is coming from below deck. Nemo goes to explore it and finds Paquito who had been looting the ship, and also finds a a dismembered warforged that seems to have been taken apart for pieces by his crewmates. Nemo, after accidentally breaking the warforged’s head off checking to see if he was alive, tells the adolescent sailor to be careful when looting in dangerous places and, while he’s there, takes inventory of the remaining loot and then goes back up.
A few minutes of discussion later, Pietro is worried about Augur, his cat, who has gone missing for too long and is none of the two boats that the party is currently commandeering. Ike goes too to the underdeck to try to help the sailor, but doesn’t find the cat. He also inspects the dead warforged and, on doing so, its head comes alive and looks at him in the eyes.
Later, while still discussing what to do, Ike goes below deck to inspect. Besides the alien engine powering the ship, he also finds . Paquito asks Brand to become his squire. Brand accepts. The adolescent sailor is keen in getting started on his training soon and acquiring a legendary weapon. Brand, not so keen on waking up at 4am or standing naked under an ice cold waterfall, tries to calm him down.
Eventually Lyra notices a burning smell coming from Skeldharbor, she climbs up the mast, sees smoke and the party switches on the galleon’s engine and arrives to town in 10minutes.
When they arrive, they notice several buildings on fire and two piles of corpses on the deck. Ike borrows a spyglas fro Paco and sees that one of the piles of corpses is from heavily damaged warforged and the other are dead guards and townsfolk. Sister Helka is talking to the priest who arrived from Ironwound and they are both looking at the party’s two ships who are unmistakeably visible as they were approaching the ship.
Nemo and Lyra take a rowboat and get half-way to the pier. Helka with some guards takes a rowboat and approach them. The party wants to handover Brine-9 in exchange of sails and they will be on their way, but Sister Helka doesn’t want anything to do with the sails. Not reaching any deal, Helka goes back to town and sends one of the fishermen that the party hired to talk to them. The fishermen isn’t completely on-board because the party goaded the bandits into setting the town on fire, but eventually they reach a deal and the party exchanges Brine-9 for 250gp, sails and tips that the visitors from Ironwound, including the angel, are still around. When the fishermen and returning they hear a cracking noise and some shoutings saying “the head fell off!” as an attempt to disguise the sailor’s murder of the pirate’s captain.
Lyra takes a very close look at the pier, gets really bad vibes, and the party decides to try their luck in the evening.
After hiding with their ships outside of the town’s eyes until night, they get offboard while Paco and his crew are ready to depart on quick notice. As light rain starts to fall, Lyra wild shapes into a black cat and enters town while the rest of the party remains in telepathic link with her. She goes to the inn, finds Little Sebastian, their pony, still there but their rooms have been emptied. She stays in the inn’s main room and listens for any clues but gets nothing and leaves. Soto suggests finding the prison. Lyra fids the garrison but it’s too small to hold prisoners. Next, the party thinks of the temple of Valkur where Helka lives and they go there.
At the temple, she carefully sneaks in, spots at least 3 people hiding and also notices there are 8 cages hanging from the temple’s high ceiling but can’t see who’s in there. She tries to make friends with the young priest helper of Helka but the priest, despite being very fond of animals, dries her in his room and then takes her out of the temple and sushes her because “the temple is busy tonight.” Lyra then transforms into a spider and goes back in, climbs the walls, identifies the hiding creatures as the battleforce angel, Mon and his mastiff, and the priest, and also finds Klik and Klak and Jinu held inside the cages.
With the rest of the party waiting outside, at one point Mon goes outside to pee. The party takes the opportunity and deal him serious damage and end up grappling him, gagging him and tying him and putting him on top of Little Sebastian before he can alert anyone and still with his pants down and manly parts in the open.
Moments later, Mon’s mastiff sniffs something and goes out to inspect. It notices the party and starts barking. The angel and the Ironwound priest join the fight. The mastiff grabs Mon with his mouth, pulls him off the pony, but while trying to flee, Little Sebastian kicks them with his hooves, unlikely for Mon hitting him directly in his unprotected parts and leaving him practically eunuch.
The party quickly turns the priest into burning meat, and the angel, grabs Soto and flies into the air. On his turn though, Soto punches the angel into unconsciousness while they’re both 70 feet high, and as they are falling, he jumps off the falling angel (haha) and onto the tree canopy where he can use his levitate spell. The angel crushes into the ground and, on his turn, Brand turns the sexy big bossomed celestial into pulp with his big warhammer. Inside the temple, Ike approaches one of the levers that holds the cages up, while Lyra exists wild shape while outside Klik and Klak’s jail, 40 feet high in the air, and then falls while trying to climb horizontally across the ceiling and falls to the temple’s stone floor and nearly kills herself with the marble altar.
The session ends in the middle of combat with the heroes rejoicing about their victory.
